Long-range Ethernet media converter designed for distances up to 1,000 meters (1 km) or more using single mode fiber optics. This converter is ideal for connecting remote buildings, campus networks, surveillance cameras at distance, or industrial control points beyond the reach of copper or multimode fiber. The converter typically includes a fixed 1310nm single mode transceiver (SC/APC or LC/UPC connectors) or an SFP slot for interchangeable optics. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation and includes features such as link fault pass-through (LFP) and remote loopback testing. The rugged metal housing is designed for industrial environments (-40°C to +75°C extended temperature models available). Power options include 12V DC terminal block (redundant input), passive PoE (power over Ethernet from the copper side), or external adapter. LEDs provide clear status of power, link, and activity on both ports. This converter is widely used in FTTA (fiber to the antenna), traffic management, and security networks.
