This medium-duty cable stripping tool is designed for precise jacket removal from fiber optic and copper cables in the 5–15 mm diameter range—including standard drop cables, patch cords, and small-diameter loose tube cables. The tool features a fixed or adjustable depth blade that can be set to the exact thickness of the outer sheath (typically 1–2mm), preventing damage to internal fibers, coatings, or conductors. The ergonomic aluminum body provides a comfortable grip for repeated use, while the rotating blade head allows both ring cuts (circumferential) and longitudinal slits in one tool. For ring cuts, the tool is rotated around the cable; for slits, the tool is drawn along the cable length with the blade engaged. The medium stripper is a favorite of FTTH installation crews and central office technicians who need to strip hundreds of drop cables per week. The replaceable steel blade (hardened to 55 HRC) delivers hundreds of strips before needing replacement, and spare blades are stored in the handle.
