PA 500 Tension Clamps
The PA 500 is a precision-engineered tension clamp from the PA series, rated for a working load of 500 kg and specifically designed for ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) and OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) fiber optic cables in aerial installations. The clamp features a smooth, contoured gripping surface that distributes tension forces evenly across the cable jacket, preventing point-loading that could damage optical fibers. The hot-dip galvanized steel construction provides robust corrosion resistance for decades of outdoor service, while the clamp design accommodates either dead-end (permanent) or through-bolt (adjustable) configurations. The PA 500 is typically used for ADSS cable spans of medium length (100–300 meters) or in distribution networks where fiber counts are moderate. Rubber grip inserts are included to protect the cable sheath and provide additional friction without crushing the internal fiber tubes. The clamp is compatible with standard utility hardware and can be installed using common hand tools.
- Working Load: 500 kg (1,102 lbs) — safety factor of 3:1 typical
- Cable Diameter: 8–14 mm (accommodates most mini-ADSS and distribution cables)
- Material: Hot-dip galvanized steel (ASTM A153, 85 µm minimum coating thickness)
- Design: Dead-end (permanent grip) or through-bolt (adjustable, reusable)
- Includes: Rubber grip inserts (EPDM, hardness 70 Shore A) — spare sets available
- Application: ADSS fiber optic cables, messenger wire termination, guy wire anchoring
- Bolt Torque: 25–35 N·m (through-bolt configuration)
- Operating Temperature: -40°C to +80°C
