SC-UPC Fast Connector

Field-installable SC/UPC fiber optic fast connector (also known as a field-assembly or "no-epoxy" connector) that terminates a fiber cable in seconds without epoxy, polishing, or curing. The connector uses a mechanical splice mechanism with index-matching gel inside a pre-polished ferrule. The field technician simply strips the cable, cleaves the fiber, inserts it into the connector, and clamps it shut. The insertion loss is ≤0.3 dB typical, suitable for most FTTH and premises distribution applications. The connector is reusable on the same fiber only (one-time install). The blue housing indicates UPC polish. This connector is widely used for rapid FTTH drop terminations, emergency repairs, and installations where a fusion splicer is unavailable.
