The Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 (NSM5) is a 5GHz airMAX M-series CPE featuring an integrated 16dBi directional antenna for medium-range, high-performance PtP and PtMP links. It delivers real TCP/IP throughput of up to 150 Mbps and includes one Fast Ethernet port with 24V passive PoE. The 5GHz band offers less interference than 2.4GHz but requires clear line-of-sight. The NSM5 is larger than the Loco M5 and provides higher gain for longer range (up to 10 km). Managed via airOS M web interface or UNMS, it supports airMAX TDMA, spectrum analysis, and alignment tools. Ideal for WISP backhaul, medium-range PtP links, and as a PtMP client where 5GHz is preferred for cleaner spectrum.
